Backpacks/ Hydration: Camelbak Octane 18X, CamelBak Octane XCT
Both of these packs felt light on our backs, they conformed to our running motion and were barely noticeable. The storage capacity of the 18x was more than enough while the XCT lacked room for two layers. Good thing I had my boss with me to carry my extra gear. Both bags carried enough water and the design kept the hydration sleeve from sagging to the bottom of the bag.
Trail Runners: La Sportiva Raptors, La Sportiva Crosslites
Both of these shoes have the Impact Break System which made running down hill feel secure and stable. Our off trail adventure got our feet wet but they dried quickly. We also crossed everything from boulder fields to 5th class terrain with ease thanks to the grippy rubber.
Shell: Golite Dakota Windshirt
This layer trapped just enough heat and kept the light wind at 13,000ft from turning us into popsicles.
Shirt: Golite Wildwood Trail Longsleeve Run Top
This shirt was a great baselayer. I was able to run in the 85 degree heat and feel comfortable.
Watch: High Gear Axio
Having an accurate altimeter allowed provided vital information. This watch is also small enough and comfortable to wear everyday.
Socks: Darn Tough Merino Wool 1/4 Sock Cushion
Our feet were very happy with our choice. Wool socks that don't stretch out are awesome. We even got them wet and they dried quickly and were still soft against the skin.
